What is the dosage and how should it be used?

Pefloxacin comes as an orally-administered tablet or as an infusion.

Take pefloxacin exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these instructions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.


Oral: Adults - 400 mg bid 7 to 10 days taken along with food.

IV Infusion: Adults - 400mg in 100ml of 5% dextrose slow infusion over 1 hr bid.
